Kristin Harila

Kristin Harila (b. 1986), hailing from the very flat village of Vadsø in Northern Norway, embodies the spirit of a self-made icon. Born with a passion for the outdoors, Kristin quickly realized her love for winter sports and cross-country skiing. However, it was her fearless attitude and exceptional talent for mountaineering that set her apart from the rest and made her a phenomenal climber. Following her resignation from her management job in 2019, Kristin has dedicated her life to pursuing her dream of climbing the world’s highest peaks. She has conquered Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain, and Mount Lhotse, the world’s fourth highest, in record time, cementing her place as one of the world’s best mountain climbers. Kristin Harila set, together with Tenjen Lama Sherpa, in July 2023, the world record in climbing all 14 8000-meter-high mountains in only 92 days. With the record, Kristin proved to the world that women are just as strong and resilient as men.
