Kari Hestnes has worked with knitwear design since the mid-1980s and has published a number of books on knitting. In 1998, she established the wholesale company Du Store Alpakka together with her husband Per Svendsen, where they introduced alpaca to the Norwegian knitting market. The company was sold in 2012, and since then Kari has sold her colourful designs via her own website, www.karihdesign.com.
