The Wild Lily is an independent sequel to the titles Enemy Friend and The Swift. It’s the third and final part of the Ellinge series.

Sonja Berg has always kept her Jewish heritage hidden from others. She works as a nurse but dreams of doing more for people in need. The war takes its toll on her and she thinks about it night and day, suffering with her relatives stuck in the German concentration camps around Europe.
When Britt visits her and tells her that the Red Cross needs nurses for a secret project in Germany, Sonja becomes curious. It turns out to be Folke Bernadotte who initiated a rescue operation to bring home Norwegian and Danish prisoners of war from Germany. Sonja contacts the Red Cross and becomes one of the 10 nurses who will be allowed to go with the caravan on the dangerous mission.
