Andreas Tjernshaugen is the author of six books, most recently Wild. On the Trail of the Red Fox (2021). Topics for his previous books range from the history of whaling to the behavior of common garden birds. Tjernshaugen has a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Oslo, but his non-fiction writing often builds on findings from other fields such as the natural sciences and history, as well as the author’s own observations of wildlife, landscapes and people. He lives in Nesodden, a peninsula in the Oslo fjord, with his family, his dog Topsy and a few chickens.
