One flea market. Three women. Endless amounts of trash – and treasures.

Iselin works hard to keep her family happy, but lately, she has started to loathe both her husband, her job and the constant demand to raise money for the kids´ marching band. The only thing that gives her joy while volunteering at yet another flea market, is reading about murders and stalking the victims on social media.

Berit is in grief after her partner passed away. In an attempt to cope with the loss, the seventy-five-year-old hunts vintage design treasures at local flea markets. Every Friday, she visits her love´s grave bringing fresh coffee and new fine china mugs.

Sarah is pregnant with her first child and scared that the father is going to leave her. Since growing up with a struggling single mother, her biggest fear has been to become one herself. With bad childhood memories from flea markets, Sarah stays away from them – until she has to go to one in her job as an ambulance driver.

Fine China is a novel about being happy alone and lonely in the company of others. It is a story about losing people – but also about finding new connections.
