In the traces of Mossad is a harrowing account of the secret spy war between Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Movement from the 1970s and onwards up till today. We read about Mossad agent Sylvia Rafael and the Palestinian Ali Hassan Salameh, whom Mossad codenamed “The Red Prince”. Odd Karsten Tveit tells of merciless assassinations, brutal murders, and a historic failure for Mossad at Lillehammer in Norway where Sylvia Rafael was one of Mossad’s agents. Readers are taken into the shadows where e-services and agents carry out shady deeds. It is a bloody story where enemies are bound to each other in an endless spiral of violence.
The secret spy war turns into a full-scale war in the 1980s, where Israel wants to gain control of neighboring Lebanon and kill Yasir Arafat. The last part of the book deals with the dramatic Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023 and Israel’s war against Palestinians in Gaza, a merciless warfare that develops into a genocide.
