In the third volume about Hardrada ,we follow Harald’s journey to Constantinople where he enlists as a mercenary in the emperor’s Væringgard (Varangian Guard).

On his way to Constantinopel he meets the master horseman Kitai of the Khazar people. The Khazars are called devil riders by their enemies for their deadly skills with the bow from horseback.

The Devil’s Horseman is the third volume in the critically acclaimed album series Hardrada, where the first volume was nominated for the Ministry of Culture’s cartoon prize. The comic series is based on Jan Ove Ekeberg’s best-selling historical novel series The Last Viking King about Harald Hardrada’s dramatic life, travels and wars throughout Europe.
